Finished with pre-assessments!

We finally finished pre-assessments early this past week! Yay! Now I can focus solely on instruction! We are all using our schedules correctly and familiar with center and lesson expectations. Kiddos are doing great in specials as well! We are now split up into three different groups going to specials - which is really nice for me because during this time I am teaching reading and language arts lessons. It's most calm and quiet during this time (because we have less students in the classroom) which is great for reading and writing!

This past Thursday & Friday I was out sick and Ms. Kathi & the kiddos had some fun taking pictures! See the slideshow above!

This coming up week we are switching back to our current social studies topics:
Kindergarten: identifying maps & globes, identifying state, country, & continent
First Grade: locating continents and all oceans on maps/globes
Second Grade: locating continents, oceans, identifying landforms, and eventually Georgia regions and rivers

This Friday we plan to have a cooking activity and to play BINGO! I like to play games on Fridays so we can target more social skills - and BINGO is my favorite because there are many ways to incorporate more language. For our cooking activity we will be making fish aquariums! This week we will be reading Rainbow Fish, one of my favorite books!

Have a great weekend!
